Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. After making her film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was determined to steer clear of the glamour of nude roles which was a principle she applied in her acting. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking probably her most high-profile part ever in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film in the film with Sean Connery, who played Indy's father. Doody costarred with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was inspired by the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. In Hollywood Doody moved to. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokeswoman and was later cast alongside Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend in Major League II. Doody was away from acting for almost 10 years, came back 2003 to take on a tiny role in The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her in a scene at the ceremony for awards. She was in the film together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She later guest starred in the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of horror classic The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. The film was awarded the Almeria film award on November 21, 2018.
