Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks after her first attempt. Felix graduated from high school and signed an official contract to Adidas. In 2004 she was enrolled at her first year at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. The following year, Felix won the first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record sprinting 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest to win the 200-meter race in the world championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She won her medal the following year, beating her the long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished in the top three of the events.
