Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her talent for sprinting while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks following the first time she tried out. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she was able to defend the title against her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her races.
