Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters, also known as Lazzara was born on February 28 in 1948. She is an American singer, actress and author of children's books. She has appeared on television, film, musical theatre and solo performances, as well as recorded recordings. Her career spans over six decades. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performer, receiving seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) as well as nine Drama Desk Award nominations, receiving three. Four of her Broadway productions in which she has performed have won Grammy Awards.
Peters is widely considered to be the most famous interpreter of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
